We share the potential of innovative theater

During a performance of Blue Night

Jarrod Roylance, Jeb Pearson,
Joaquin Lopez in Keep Tightly Closed...

Sowelu Theater has a history of bringing exciting, original live performances to audiences outside our home theater. We have surprised audiences in colleges, high schools and communities around Oregon and the West Coast. We share the potential of innovative theater and exceptional performances by our gifted actors.

We have performed in small professional theaters, at festivals and alternative curriculum events. Sowelu tours offer works from our new play development program, New Works in Process, as well as, our exciting interpretations of unusual plays performed in our Portland season.

Our touring productions often include workshops in the methods employed creating the play being presented. This gives audiences, fellow artists and students a more informative and inspirational experience associated with our work. Please call for more information. 503.730.9066

The evening features the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca musically arranged by Paco Ibanez, one of Spain’s legendary balladeers. Hear Joaquin Lopez and Stan Olmsted’s signature performance of Lorca’s epic poem, “Romance Sonambulo”.
