We have many things to celebrate and are planning a 10th Anniversary Party for this February 23rd. We want to celebrate with each of you. We are planning an event that will feature performances by artists participating in the 2007-2008 season, a video retrospective of the past ten years created by Jeb Pearson and presentations that represent our theater, film and education programs.
The evening's performances will feature Nan Gatchel from the upcoming Star of Hope, Aundre' Barnes from the recent Streamers, Dan Hill's comedy troupe Icarus and a performance by Keith Goodman's Dance Gatherer. We will also have a link to the Independent Spirit Awards awaiting the award announcements. Quiet City, by Aaron Katz, which opened Sowelu's 2007-08 season, is nominated for the John Cassavetes Award for Best Independent Feature under $500,000.00. We look forward to honoring our past and celebrating our future.
The party will also be our annual fundraiser. You can expect the traditionally wonderful food from Saucebox, La Bonita Catering, Montage and more. We hope you will join us for great food, entertainment and conversation. The proceeds will go to production costs for Lea Floden's Star of Hope, directed by Lorraine Bahr and featuring Nan Gatchel, Rick Mullins, Jeb Pearson, Jared Roylance, Heather Rose Walters, and Brittany Burch with the lovely supporting staff of Sarah McKinlay, Christine Fruehling, Dan Hill and more.
We hope this February 23rd at 7:00 PM will find us celebrating this milestone with you.
On behalf of the ensemble and board, we thank you in advance for your contribution.
